Several filmmakers are hoping the third Florence Short Film Showcase will be the platform they need to be one of those lucky few to launch from film festivals and onto the big screen.
The event, which will take place from 6:30-10 p.m. on Feb. 7 at the Southeastern Institute of Manufacturing and Technology, is a chance for the participating filmmakers to gain public recognition, said Tonita Perry, a marketing partner for the showcase.
